For NECHE-Accredited Institutions
Your self-study should reflect the work your institution is already doing.
NECHE's ten-year review cycle — with its interim reports and decennial self-study — rewards institutions that demonstrate systematic, evidence-based improvement across every academic and operational dimension. Campus Credit gives your enrollment offices the documented workflows that make that evidence visible when it counts.

NECHE Standards — Campus Credit workflows directly address Standards 4, 5, 8, and 9
Unified platform replacing disconnected tools across your enrollment and international offices
NECHE's interim reports track specific enrollment and data gaps — often for years
NECHE's fifth-year interim report is not a formality. It's a targeted follow-up on areas the Commission identified during the comprehensive review. Recent institutional reviews reveal a clear pattern: enrollment planning, data-informed decision-making, and articulation documentation are among the most frequently tracked items.
Massachusetts College of Art and Design — NECHE Action Letter, December 2025
Following its comprehensive review, NECHE required MassArt's 2030 interim report to give emphasis to progress in three specific areas:
Developing a strategic enrollment plan — directly tied to Standard 2.3 (Planning)
Continuing to build an institution-wide culture of data-informed decision-making — Standards 2.2, 2.6, and 7.26
Accomplishing facilities planning initiatives — with particular attention to accessibility and long-term sustainability

Campus Credit directly supports two of the three most commonly tracked interim report items: strategic enrollment planning (through systematic data, pipeline management, and equity reporting) and data-informed decision-making (through real-time dashboards across every enrollment pathway). If your institution has received similar follow-up items, Campus Credit gives you the infrastructure to demonstrate progress.
What NECHE evaluators look for — and how Campus Credit supports it
NECHE's nine standards take a holistic, mission-centered view of institutional quality. Peer evaluators look for systematic evidence that your institution is achieving what it says it will achieve — and that includes how you manage credit transfer, prior learning, international students, and experiential programs.
NECHE 4.36 requires clear administrative oversight for all courses for which the institution awards credit — including dual enrollment. Standard 4.39 governs credit for prior experiential learning. Standard 4.41 requires evaluation of articulation, dual enrollment, and prior learning effectiveness.
NECHE explicitly requires "demonstrable academic content for all experiences for which credit is awarded, including study abroad, internships, independent study, experiential learning, and service learning." Multiple self-studies across New England institutions cite this as requiring systematic documentation.
Standard 5 addresses the full admissions and student services landscape — including services for international students. Institutions must demonstrate systematic evaluation of student services and adequate support for all student populations.
Standard 2.3 requires institutions to demonstrate effective strategic planning — which NECHE has specifically cited as including strategic enrollment planning. Standard 2.2 and 2.8 require institutional research to be sufficient and used to drive documented improvement in programs and services.
Standard 8 requires institutions to assess student learning and success across all programs. Multiple New England self-studies demonstrate that institutions must show assessment data for CPL, dual enrollment, and transfer programs — not just traditional credit courses.
Standard 9 requires accurate disclosure of transfer credit policies, articulation agreements, and program information. NECHE evaluators verify that what institutions publish is what they actually do — requiring documented, auditable processes behind every public-facing policy.
Six enrollment pathways — each generating the evidence NECHE evaluators look for
Campus Credit unifies six enrollment workflows under one platform. Each module produces systematic, auditable documentation — the kind of evidence NECHE peer evaluators ask for when they want to know "how do you know this is working, and how is it improving?"
NECHE 4.36 requires institutions to retain full academic responsibility for dual enrollment courses. Institutions with strong early college programs — like those achieving 87% success rates documented in NECHE self-studies — demonstrate this through systematic instructor oversight and outcome tracking.
Instructor qualification tracking and faculty approval workflows
Course content and curriculum oversight documentation
Student eligibility verification and enrollment management
Disaggregated outcome data by high school and student demographics
Program effectiveness evaluation for Standard 4.41 evidence
NECHE 4.39 requires CPL credit to be awarded "only with appropriate oversight by faculty and academic administration." Institutions with mature CPL programs — some with 40+ years of prior learning assessment experience — demonstrate this through standardized petition workflows and documented faculty evaluation.
Portfolio, challenge exam, ACE, and military transcript pathways
Faculty evaluator assignment with rubric-based evaluation tools
Academic administration approval routing and documentation
Student learning achievement documentation for comparability evidence
CPL credit limit tracking per NECHE policy thresholds
NECHE Standard 9 requires that published transfer policies match actual practice. Institutions maintaining large articulation agreement portfolios — some with 90+ active agreements — need systematic management to ensure what's published stays current and what's practiced stays documented.
Agreement creation, version control, and expiration tracking
Course equivalency mapping with documented evaluation criteria
MassTransfer and statewide compact alignment documentation
Public disclosure exports for catalog and web compliance
Annual review workflows to keep all agreements current
NECHE explicitly requires demonstrable academic content for study abroad credit. New England universities with robust experiential learning programs — including study abroad, study away, internships, and service learning — document the same academic standards applied on campus through agreement management and credit evaluation workflows.
Partner institution agreement tracking and academic oversight
Pre-departure academic planning and credit equivalency mapping
Health, safety, and risk management documentation
Credit transfer evaluation with institutional authority trail
Learning outcome documentation for Standard 8 evidence
NECHE Standard 5 requires systematic student services for all student populations. For institutions enrolling F-1 students, that means a DSO operation that can demonstrate consistent, compliant, and evaluated service — providing the institutional evidence Standard 5 and Standard 8 require.
I-20 generation, updates, and batch printing workflows
OPT, CPT, and STEM OPT authorization and tracking
SEVIS reporting and enrollment status management
Visa document storage with permanent, secure records
Service evaluation data for Standard 5 reporting
If your institution's mission includes workforce education and community service, NECHE evaluators will examine how noncredit programs align with and advance that mission. Institutions with corporate and community education divisions benefit from bringing those programs under the same quality infrastructure as credit programs.
Course catalog, section management, and online registration
Completion certificates and noncredit transcript records
Noncredit-to-credit pathway mapping and documentation
Program review data for Standard 2 evaluation cycles
Mission alignment reporting for Standard 1 evidence
Three pillars. One unified student record.
All six workflows share a single student record that connects to your SIS — so every office sees the same data, every credit decision is documented, and your self-study evidence is always within reach.
Campus Credit makes your self-study easier to write — and your evidence easier to defend
NECHE's self-study process asks institutions to demonstrate effectiveness across nine standards. For enrollment-related standards, Campus Credit gives your team ready-made evidence: audit trails, outcome reports, and process documentation that map directly to what evaluators ask.
